Abstract:
The paper discloses the essence of metropolitan region as specific territorial phenomena in Ukraine. The delimitation of Kyiv metropolitan region is proposed based on estimation of socio-economic influence made by the capital on the suburbs. The authors substantiate general functions and directions of further development of Kiev metropolitan region as well as its transformation into separate administrative unit of Ukraine.
